Join Spira in accessing higher states of awareness through mindfulness-based art workshops. Absolutely no experience is necessary. In fact, if you think you can’t draw but would love to create something beautiful that comes from your heart, these workshops are definitely for you.
Each 2 hour workshop begins with introductions, instruction on how to using the materials, followed by a short guided meditation and time to create your project. The topic and finished product varies but we generally use simple materials like colored pencils, pens, sharpies, and watercolor paint. All materials are provided unless specified.
Join me on Friday, February 10,2023, from 6:00-8:00pm. The cost is $40 and includes all materials. We will create a watercolor painting representing your energetic body state. You’ll get to tune in to your body with breathwork and meditation.

Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (or TRE®) is a simple yet innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE®) is based on the fundamental idea, backed by research, that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. Join Spira for this 6-Week introduction to Mindful Yoga for Trauma. Learn to feel calmer and more comfortable in every day life. The online course meets on Mondays from 7-8pm. The In-person course meets at Hard Knocks gym in Everett, MA.
This course will help you develop awareness and connect with your body while healing from trauma. Yoga and mindfulness practices have been proven to be effective modalities on this journey. Spira is a trauma survivor, art and yoga teacher and has been using yoga, mindfulness, art, and other somatic modalities in her own personal healing and is excited to share this practice with you. It's VERY gentle and easily accessible. You can practice on your mat, on a chair, or even standing. You don't have to be flexible or look a certain way. This is not a workout or fitness program. We are simply connecting with our bodies, calming the nervous system, increasing proprioception and interoception, and building resilience and self-acceptance.

Join me for an 6 -week course on creating a mindful art journal. Art making is an excellent mindfulness practice and when we make it personal, all the better. Each week, I'll teach you a new technique to try, paired with a mindful meditation and theme. From there, you'll create a new page in your book! By the end of the course, you will have enough basic skills and ideas to continue creating on your own.
The course will begin on Thursday, September 3 from 7:00-8:30 and continue for 6 weeks. The cost is $150. Registration ends on Sunday, August 30. Be sure to give yourself enough time to get the materials and watch the introductory video before the course starts. I will send out a materials list as well as a couple of introductory videos to help you get started with basic materials so that you'll be ready to jump in on week one. If you miss a class, the course will be recorded so that you can watch it afterwards.
